I saw the show on Wednesday night as well and it’s not my first live ‘Porgy and Bess’ production. It’s also not my first ‘The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess’ production because I survived Trevor Nunn’s abomination. This new version running is actually more faithful to the novel, the original play, the opera and previous musical versions than any I’ve seen.
