The Art of David Tudor (1963-1992), Vol. 2 has three works with "pepsi" in the title. Google Books implies this was for the Expo '70 in Japan:

That I identified the quote as coming from Google Books rather than the The NewMediaReader, Volume 1 implies society has moved to a higher level of abstraction, although to whose commercial benefit is unclear.
