Archie Shepp and Larry Coryell were guests on drummer Chico Hamilton's The Dealer album...The Orion String Quartet plays the Kirchner quartets...Music for Marcel Duchamp comes from the Shutter Island movie soundtrack. If I remember correctly, only a few seconds of the work were used in the film...A Room is in two versions, one for prepared piano and for guitar...I've created an rdio playlist of my current favorite tracks, and I'm mildly surprised that so few items are really contemporary. Kenneth Woods suggests that we need 80 years to sort out if something will prove enduring. Of course, since I'm not the only user of the family account, my overall rdio heavy rotation skews to more recent girl music.
