Concerning 1,2, &3. The backbone of selling music has been thoroughly broken starting with Napster way back when. The paradigm is now branding. Give away the music or lower the price like Amazon and you have a "loss leader" bringing them into the store. Charles Ives pretty much did that in his lifetime but not many wanted his goods. Technology is the new loss leader.
