The Italian composer Dario Marianelli has written the music for a new version of the film Jane Eyre:
Dario Marianelli’s Jane Eyre score heavily features a solo violin, recorded for the film by the 2010 Classical Brit Award-winning violinist Jack Liebeck. Marianelli is known for the gift of capturing the emotional and poignant elements of a story in his music. His score for Atonement earned him Golden Globe and Academy Awards, and his work on Pride & Prejudice was also Oscar-nominated. His other film credits as composer include Eat Pray Love,Agora, The Brave One, The Soloist, Everybody’s Fine, and V for Vendetta.
Australian Mia Wasikowska plays the Jane Eyre lead, albeit with flat hair. She of course was also in two recent aworks favorites: Alice in Wonderland and The Kids Are Alright. Her performance in Gus Van Sant's Restless is not yet released. In that movie, she will have short but modern hair.
At some point, I need to listen and watch V for Vendetta; and also revisit the great Bernard Herrmann's score for the 1944 Jane Eyre.

Looking forward to her Jane Eyre 2011 movie! Its one of my favorites and can't wait to have it on DVD.
