Einsten on the Beach (1976). Philip Glass

An Australian production by Leigh Warren & Dancers of half of Einstein on the Beach:

Possibly the most original interpretation yet, for which Glass gave express permission, this Adelaide production takes it to a new level.

Exploring the properties and mysteries of the 'fifth element'-light, Einstein on the Beach is an experimental blend of contemporary dance, opera and scientific theory and a symbolic look at Einstein in his varying guises-scientist, humanist and musician. It's minimalist, abstract and a work of immense hypnotic power.
