I'm playing around with wefeelfine.org which scours blogs to report what people are feeling. In the murmurs section, this bit of wisdom floated past:
when i feel that i've learned enough on a particular subject, i move on. xilovebroccolix
In my case, I'm far removed from being saturated with my musical focus. Although, after reading this pessimistic James Kunstler post (blog title NSFW; can't find a direct link to the May 8th entry), I don't take the future for granted:
The science fiction of my friends' children will take place in the past. When some of them are old, the omnipresent electric power of this time, and all the wonders that ran on it, will seem like an unfathomable occult force that saturated the world like a spell.
But I feel grateful for being able to pursue my interests as I have. Hopefully, Kurt Vonnegut's quote is not applicable:
Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before.
I can't find a suitable online stream other than Amazon but Harry Partch's Dark Brother, with its voice, chromelodeon, viola, kithara, and bass marimba sounds like strange music from a science fiction movie.
