The Masked Mayhem lists his desert island CD compilation, including a band arrangement of The Alcotts (which intrigues me). The list looks fine, well, except for the Stravinsky and the Kansas... Ok, I'll admit that I have recently been listening to Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet that was on that Gordon Getty CD.
This reminds me of one more musical moment on my recent trip where I was listening to an MP3 of Roger Shields playing The Alcotts while walking through the United terminal in Chicago. I don't really use music for specific "mood management" but in this case, it felt exultant. Not a word normally associated with O'Hare Airport...



Yeah...love your site. Couple of fine recordings out there of that arrangement. If you can get your hands on it "Charles Ives: America" by the US Marine Band is your best bet.
