When you say "iTunes played it" what do you mean? Were you listening to one of the internet radio stations listed in iTunes? If so which one? I'm curious.

Richard Friedman

I should also add that there is a 1980 program on Antheil that Charles Amirkhanian did for KPFA on the internet archive: http://www.archive.org/audio/audio-details-db.php?collection=other_minds&collectionid=Antheil

Also, Other Minds has just released the complete string quartets by Antheil, performed by the Del Sol Quartet:

Robert Gable

Thanks for the Antheil links. I've heard his later, more conservative orchestral music as well as the 1920s modernism stuff, but haven't heard any string quartet.

No, I haven't heard any Antheil on the streaming stations online. I was using iTunes in shuffle mode to randomly serve up Ballet Mecanique.

For future googlers, I'll also point out the music mavericks site has a Real stream of Ballet mecanique.
