In a Landscape, for Harp or Piano (1948). John Cage

Eric Nordby on Live Journal gets introduced to John Cage via In a Landscape:

For some reason it is so simple yet so beautiful. It somewhat reminds me of cold winters in England. Believe me I know what that is like. It's sad and heart warming.

I feel very comfortable right now but yet very compelled.

If you are going to hear one John Cage work, In a Landscape would be a good choice. I would recommend the Stephen Drury CD with Amazon samples here. The William Orbit (of Madonna fame) electronic version is online in real format but not recommended.
